2022 – Building Hope Today Foundation: Equipping Those Who Serve and Protect – Expert Training on Grooming, Delayed Disclosure, and Victim Care within Child Sexual Abuse Cases for Multidisciplinary Teams in Rural Southwest Idaho — $29,834
Building Hope for Today will train multidisciplinary teams in rural communities working on child sexual abuse cases. Funds support two 2-day intensive training sessions for up to 240 multidisciplinary team members from rural Southwest Idaho including three experts’ speaking fees and travel expenses for each training. It also covers participants’ attendance fees, handbooks/supplies, lunches, and lodging for attendees who must travel a significant distance.
2021 – Idaho Humane Society: Providing Access to Medical Care at Duck Valley Indian Reservation in Owyhee County — $30,000
This project addresses pet over-population in the underserved and economically disadvantaged Duck Valley Indian Reservation in Owyhee County through spay and neuter surgeries, rehoming of surplus companion animals, and providing basic veterinary services. Funds support the transportation of animals, veterinary costs, vaccination costs, and parasite treatments.
2021 – Family Health Services: Expanding Health Services in Frontier Camas County — $30,000
Family Health Services will provide access to much needed mental health and counseling services to those living in the unique mountain communities in Camas County and to provide easy access to affordable digital imaging at the Fairfield dental clinic. Funds support the first year salary for a mental health counselor and a DEXIS Titanium Adult Dental Sensor.
2020 – Idaho Association for the Education of Young Children: READY! for Kindergarten – $51,981
READY! for Kindergarten will offer parent education workshops to families with children ages birth through five living in Marsing, Notus, Melba, Mountain Home and Jerome. These workshops will teach parents what Kindergarten Readiness is and why it’s important to their child’s school success.
2019 – Desert Sage Health Centers: A Project to Reduce Rural Healthcare Barriers by Providing Transportation for Patients Requiring Care in Boise – $59,642
Providing reliable, consistent transportation for medical care can remove barriers to life-saving healthcare. Purchase of a wheelchair-accessible mini-van will facilitate the transport of patients from Glenns Ferry to Boise for life-saving medical treatments, visits, and specialist appointments. Prominently displayed logos on the van will promote use and increase awareness.
2019 – Hacker Middle School: Hacker Middle School Fitness Playground – $60,000
Hacker Middle School’s Burke Elevate Fitness Course will serve the community in three ways: as playground climbing equipment for the general student population, as a tool to be integrated into the school’s physical education curriculum, and as a free option, after school hours, for the community to improve its fitness.
2016 – Valley Regional Transit – $40,000
Valley Regional Transit is using this grant to provide more flexible transportation to jobs (4,000 round trips) to very-low and extremely-low income members of our community. Many people live 5 miles or more from the nearest fixed bus stop or they have jobs that start or end during times when the regular bus service is not available. Without this help, these people would be unable to maintain employment.
