Our education event will recognize Women’s History Month with a panel talk on “Facts and Effects of Current Legislative Policies on Women.” We are focusing on educating members and guests on “facts and effects,” not on opinions or political leanings. Because we will be talking about legislation already passed, our panelists will use their expertise to share data and experiences to describe effects. They will focus on impacts to business, health, employment and economics in Idaho. They may also dig into the processes in place to develop policies.
Panelists include:
- Jaclyn Kettler, PhD, political science professor at BSU speaking on past and current law, including legal challenges
- Kara Cadwallader, MD, family practice physician
- Lauren Necochea, Idaho State Representative, speaking on perspective from the legislative trenches
- Katie Gentry, MD, our moderator, a practicing OB/GYN
This event is intended to be informative and educational and does not promote any specific agenda or ideology.
A social begins at 5:30 pm with light hors d’oeuvres and a no-host bar. The program begins at 6:00 pm with a question and answer period will follow.
