2018 – Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest: Increased Access to Long-Acting Reversible Contraception Methods for Underserved Women – $30,000

Because LARCs are the most effective form of contraception available, increasing access will prevent unplanned pregnancy, which disproportionately affects low-income women and is a major cause of income disparities. Of the states we serve, Idaho has an especially high need for LARC assistance due to the high number of uninsured. Uninsured women seeking LARCs are faced with paying $1,000 or more out of pocket for their service which presents a significant financial burden. This program will make LARCs accessible to women who otherwise would not be able to afford their method of choice.
