Ada Soil & Water Conservation District: Treasure Valley Pollinator Project — $20,000
The Treasure Valley Pollinator Project will plant 64,000 flowering species specifically chosen for encouraging pollinators, and provide education to thousands of community members about what makes a pollinator habitat successful. Funds will support a part-time entomologist to provide field day education, assist in pollinator identification on social media and help with citizen science engagement. Funds will also be used to design educational materials, event promotion, and printing cost of materials.
Boise Contemporary Theater: BIPOC Playwrights Festival — $30,000
Boise Contemporary Theater will bring playwrights, actors, and directors from across the country to Boise to hear new voices and new stories to our community. IWCF funds the first year of an annual event to cover playwright and theater salaries, the rental of the Morrison Center, and travel and housing for artists.
Boise Public Schools Education Foundation: Boise Community Schools Expansion — $30,000
Boise Public Schools Education foundation will expand the Boise Community Schools program to Capital High School. Funds support equipment, furniture, programming and the Community School Coordinator salary to open a Community School at Capital High School.
Family Health Services: Expanding Health Services in Frontier Camas County — $30,000
Family Health Services will provide access to much needed mental health and counseling services to those living in the unique mountain communities in Camas County and to provide easy access to affordable digital imaging at the Fairfield dental clinic. Funds support the first year salary for a mental health counselor and a DEXIS Titanium Adult Dental Sensor.
Idaho Humane Society: Providing Access to Medical Care at Duck Valley Indian Reservation in Owyhee County — $30,000
This project addresses pet over-population in the underserved and economically disadvantaged Duck Valley Indian Reservation in Owyhee County through spay and neuter surgeries, rehoming of surplus companion animals, and providing basic veterinary services. Funds support the transportation of animals, veterinary costs, vaccination costs, and parasite treatments.
Jesse Tree: Funding New Security Deposit Program – $30,000
Jesse Tree will create a newly developed Security Deposit Assistance Program (SDA) for informally housed/gap clients to prevent homelessness. Funds support case management and housing navigation services through the hire of two housing navigation coordinators, employee training, the purchase of computer and DocuSign equipment, and preparation and mailing of marketing materials.
Lutheran Community Services Northwest: “Safe Families for Children” in Treasure Valley — $25,000
Funds will help increase client capacity in order to provide concrete support to vulnerable families at critical times – including salary expenses for a professional Family Coach (host home screening, volunteer/client support and coaching); community outreach to generate referrals and coordinate with community partners; mileage for staff travel to outreach locations; and expenses around partner church coordination in terms of ongoing administrative/technical support and data tracking.
