The project provides transportation from school to the Boys and Girls Club of Garden City for students from Taft, Lowell, Mountain View and Koelsch elementary schools.

Family Medicine Residency of Idaho: Creating Idaho’s First School Based Health Clinic (SBHC) at MERIDIAN ELEMENTARY (to serve 4 elem., 1 middle school; 2,892 students and their family members) $25,000

This is a pilot project to create Idaho’s first school based health care clinic. It will provide basic primary care, behavioral health, referral to specialists, nutrition and prevention education, and financial assistance thru Medicaid enrollment and sliding fee scale for non and underinsured children and their family members who do not have a primary care medical home.

Genesis World Mission, Garden City Community Clinic: Garden City Community Clinic Dental Expansion; Dental Specialty Referral Network $24,397

Uninsured dental issues are among the three top causes of ER visits, overloading local ER departments. This project develops a Volunteer Dental Specialty Network modeled after Genesis’ successful Volunteer Physician Network to create a referral process to offload ER personnel.

Glenns Ferry Historical Museum: Where Art and History Meet $24,654

This project will continue the renovation of a historic schoolhouse into an accessible museum, create an outdoor venue/meeting place for Cultural Heritage programs in the summer and renovate and equip an area of the indoor space with technology to support the digitization of existing historical archives year around.

Refugees attend classes that instruct them in American Law practices which are relevant to their lives.

Interfaith Sanctuary Housing Services : Expanded New Directions in Supportive Services for Boise’s Homeless Population $19,500

Adds an additional halftime social worker to help more of the single men and women move from homelessness to permanent housing. Working with a social worker has an immediate impact on the resources and prospects of a homeless person.

Southwest Mountain Biking Association: Better utilization of volunteers to build environmentally sustainable trails for use by anyone who loves to hike, bike, or run $20,000

By purchasing a SingleTrack 240 high-tech minibulldozer to rough cut new multiuse trails, SWIMBA will be able to build more miles of trails for nonmotorized use more efficiently and with minimal environmental and visual impact.

Useful Glassworks: Building Capacity, Maximizing Efficiency, and Streamlining Methodology $25,000

This project trains homeless, those recently released from prison and refugees for the job market. The organization has a very high job placement record for those trained. This grant involves a redesign of the facility to allow for a 50% increase in the production of high quality glassware, and a corresponding increase in the number of participants served.
